I had the same problem its the plug. I purshaed a set of tube spanners cause like you no tool kit for eight bbucks , you need a 17 thin wall socket or tube spanner to get the plug out.
ps never give it any throttle when trying to start the bike . I flattened many batteries until I worked out a starting routine. choke out two clicks and push the start button
